Message of hope to Ondo State -Eyitayo Jegede, SAN

A positive feeling of hope and acute nostalgia bellowed out from the studio of Arise TV on Wed afternoon during the interview with Eyitayo Jegede SAN the leading Aspirant in the PDP Governorship Primaries scheduled to hold on 22nd of July 2020. Delivered in his usual calm eloquent style, Eyitayo Jegede SAN radiated humility and passion for bringing corrective measures in the governance structure of the state and demonstrated a knowledgeable grip of the issues.
On the on-going crisis in the Ondo State involving Governor Akeredolu, his embattled deputy Hon Agboola Ajayi and the members of the APC-dominated State House of Assembly, Jegede identified in clear terms a collapsing APC house embroiled in struggle for power amongst the warring parties which has been lingering for quite some time. They have allowed the crisis to spill into the fabric of the entire state whereby the main actors have completely abandoned governance of Ondo State to the detriment of the welfare and well-being of the people.
The ghost of the zoning agitation was laid to rest when Jegede gave a chronology of PDP Governorship candidates in the elections of 1999, 2003, 2007, 2012 and 2016 who were in all 5 instances chosen from the South Senatorial District except for his endorsement 3 days to the 2016 elections, thereby begging the question, precisely what rotational formula are the agitators referring to?
On governance, Jegede went on the reel out his perspective of what the future portends in Ondo State with an Eyitayo Jegede led government in catering for the welfare of the people and in specific terms the – astronomical school fees in tertiary institutions, job creation to tackle youth unemployment, affordable healthcare for the citizenry, industrialization of the state, prompt attention to the needs of the pensioners and elderly, creating a conducive atmosphere for investment opportunities, but to mention a few areas of grave concern.
Finally, Jegede was hopeful that the PDP will stick to the democratic ideals in the conduct of a hitch-free party Primaries hinged on the provision of a free and fair playing field for all eligible aspirants.
