Senator Akinyelure (Ondo Central) admonished Mimiko, Agboola and Ademujimi to retrace their steps back to PDP

Senator Ayo Akinyelure representing Ondo Central at the senate in a Press statements sent to our reporter admonished the immediate past Governor of Ondo State, Dr Olusegun Mimiko and the current Deputy Governor of the State, Hon Agboola Ajayi including Dr. Kola Ademujimi, former chief of staff to Governor Mimiko to retrace their steps back to PDP where they belong.

According to the press statement, Akinyelure reiterated the frustration of the people of Ondo State with the present administration of Governor Rotimi Akeredolu of APC, calling for the need for urgent need for PDP to unite together in ensuring victory in the forthcoming Governorship Election with the following statements below:

“Hon Agboola Ajayi should know he is a strong foundation member of PDP and I don’t know anyone who will build a house and upon completion, will be glad to pull the house down. If truly he loves the late Dr Olusegun Agagu as he had claimed, and that he was not desperate by all means when he was canvassing for votes of PDP (Delicate Delegates) members of our great Party, then he should not betray the late Iju-Odo born politician”, and the Party who is Supreme and above all members, the statement added.

“No doubt, Hon Agboola Ajayi tried his best during the last PDP party primaries, but every member of the party believed he would exhibit the spirit of sportsmanship by joining hands with the eventual winner, Barrister Eyitayo Jegede (SAN), just like other aspirants had done to lift the party to enviable heights. To me,  joining Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) will not be the solution at this crucial moment in Ondo political history”

“People like me still respects Dr Olusegun Mimiko as a political leader,  but luring Hon Agboola Ajayi to join ZLP with a view to dividing the votes of PDP will not be the expected solution. Like I had admonished Hon Agboola Ajayi to retrace his step back to his political root, I equally appeal to Dr. Olusegun Mimiko to jettison his plan on Hon Agboola Ajayi and join forces with PDP family so that we would be able to flush out this present administration, which had brought the state back to square one in this last four years”.

“If after this appeal and these two respected Party leaders are still adamant, well, I trust in the God I serve that Barrister Eyitayo Jegede of PDP will still win the election just like God was on my side to emerge as democratically elected Senator of Ondo Central currently serving the District in the Upper Chamber of National Assembly against the then APC Incumbent Senator Tayo Alasoadura and my Political Leader Olusegun Mimiko”

“This demonstrates clearly that when people of Ondo State say yes, no one can change the decision because one with God is majority.”

“Remember the mass movement of Coalition of Parties that came together to make Governor Mimiko  the two-term Governor of our Sunshine State under the Platform of Labour Party, when the people of Ondo State resolved that it was his turn to govern the state, we all stood by him to make his dream a reality. Today it is history”.

“Therefore, one good turn deserves another. Ondo State people have resolved that it is time for an Akure born Politician and Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), EYITAYO JEGEGE to govern the State for the next 4 years. This is payback time from Governor Olusegun Mimiko to reward Akure Kingdom for their support for him during his own time to support Eyitayo Jegede, his two term Hon Commissioner for Justice and Attorney General of Ondo State, during his 8 years rein as Governor of Ondo State.

“Dr Olusegun Mimiko should also remember that Ondo people have since resolved to vote PDP governor, come October 2020. That is why Ondo state people produced 2 Senators for PDP and led APC ruling Government in Ondo State with over thirty-five thousand (35,000) votes in Presidential Election of ATIKU of PDP against APC presidential candidates in the 2019 last general election”.

“This is a clear demonstration of rejection of APC government in Ondo state in its entirety, therefore Dr Olusegun Mimiko the National Chairman of ZLP should drop the plan to divide the votes of PDP in the coming  governorship election that will produce EYITAYO JEGEDE as our next Governor. He should learn from his past mistakes to start developing his political associates and brothers who stood by him to support him financially, spiritually and otherwise to make him Governor when he has no money or Federal power to achieve his ambition of governing our State for 8 good years unencumbered. The only asset he had was the masses of Ondo State that stood by him”.

“Governor Mimiko should at this point reciprocate this gesture for Eyitayo Jedege and for people like me who was so absolutely loyal to him to support him for his 8 years in the face of provocation and intimidation from my political devise, but I never yielded but see him through to be Governor twice unencumbered”.

“Therefore, we love our former Governor as we want him to retrace his steps back to where he belong and be a party to the success story that will make an Akure Man in Ondo central to be the next Governor. This support from you will make all of us your 1st Eleven in our outing to NASS in 2011 to forget and forgive your past mistakes to form a new Political family under PDP to move Ondo State forward to greater heights of development”.

“Finally, Dr Kola Ademujimi should retrace his steps back to PDP and share the success story of producing Eyitayo Jegede as the next Governor of Ondo State”.

“Ondo State is tired of Akeredolu Government and we should all say yes to demands of majority of well-educated and politically enlightened good people of Ondo state to effect a democratic change of the Government to PDP come October 2020″.

“I also use this medium to congratulate the political leaders of PDP and their teeming supporters who stood firm, the likes of Hon Kayode Akinmade, Dr Tayo Dairo, HE Otunba Omolade Oluwateru, Femi Alade (Pepelee of Akure South), Chief Segun Adegoke, Hon Dayo Awude, Engr Niran Jogbodo, Chief Mrs Edu, Hon.  Debo Ologunagba, and a host of other leaders of Ondo Central together with All Governorship Aspirants who contested the last PDP Party primaries that produced Eyitayo Jedege (SAN)  PDP party flag bearer”.

“My special thanks to all strong political leaders from North and Southern Senatorial Districts of the state for their steadfastness and strong commitments to join hands together to win the coming elections for our great Party. I remain strong with PDP. We shall all reap the reward of our labour bountifully”.

Conclusively, Senator Ayo Akinyelure appealed to every aggrieved members of PDP like Hon. Festus Akingbaso of PDP and all his teeming supporters particularly in Idanre Local Government, to sheath their swords and work for the success of Barrister Eyitayo Jegede. According to him,  there is nothing to share in zero, he urged all members to come back to PDP platform and move on with unity of purpose.
