AGBOOLA ATTEMPTS TO BRIBE CONGRESS COMMITTEE FOILED

A protest was staged earlier today at Heritage Hotel, venue of the PDP Ad Hoc results computation when the embattled Deputy Governor of the state, Mr
Agboola Ajayi allegedly attempted to bribe the members of the panel to replace the names of duly elected delegates across the 203 wards of Ondo state.

The Deputy Governor Hon. Agboola Ajayi recently relocated to the Heritage hotel where the Congress Committee lodged, sharing the same suite with the panel chairman.

Mr. Ajayi in the company of some of his campaign members like Dr. Kola Ademujimi, Engr. J J Ajayi and the House of Assembly member representing Idanre Hon. Festus Akingbaso was alleged to have been at the hotel with members of the Election panel while other aspirants were locked out.

The state caretaker Chairman Engr Clement Faboyede and his caretaker committee members were also not seen at the collation centre amidst accusations that the chairman had colluded with the embattled Deputy Governor to provide him some leverage in the forthcoming gubernatorial primaries of the party.

Our reporter at the scene also reported that a large crowd gathered chanting war songs against the Chairman and the embattled Deputy Governor. A member of the party at the hotel told our reporter that the Deputy Governor had offered a whooping sum of Eight million naira to the members of the committee to substitute the names of delegates. Information also gathered laid accusations against some of the panel members that they demanded money and threatened some of the local government chairmen that they must pay them some funds to ensure that their list was not tampered with.

As at press time, a huge crowd was still at the hotel chanting invectives.
